This exam is intended for those wishing to maintain their registration as Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) technicians as per articles 2.9 and 2.20 of the OFM-TG-04-1999 (Criteria and Process for Evaluating Programs for Training of Persons Testing, Inspecting and Maintaining Fire Alarm Systems).
This course is an online exam designed to be completed at either the CFAA office or a George Brown College assessment centre. (If you live outside the Greater Toronto Area, you can arrange to write a paper-based version of the exam at a location approved by the department co-ordinator.) Once you register in the course, it is your responsibility to contact a test location to arrange to write the exam. You must wait one week after registering to book your exam. Within minutes of you completing the exam, your results will be communicated electronically to you, the college and the CFAA. You have a maximum of two attempts to pass the exam before you are required to repeat ELCL 9073 (Fire Alarm Industry Codes and Standards Update).
