The not-for-profit Canadian Institute of Bookkeeping (CIB) currently offers the Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation, which is comprised of nine courses that prepare you for greater financial and job security as a professional bookkeeper. Certified bookkeepers are governed by a code of ethics that sets out professional responsibilities and conduct. George Brown College has been recognized by the CIB as a provider of courses that are valid equivalents of CB academic requirements. For each of the George Brown College courses listed here that you complete, you will be eligible for exemption from the equivalent CIB course. (However, you must achieve a cumulative grade average of 65% or better to be eligible for the designation.) Course exemptions must be approved by the CIB. (Exemption policies are subject to change without notice, and certain courses may be subject to a time limit for registration.) For more information about CIB certifications and courses, contact the CIB at 416-925-9420 or info@cibcb.com or visit the CIB website. |
Note(s):
The courses listed here may not represent the extent of the CB designation requirements. The qualification requirements are set by the CIB, not George Brown College. In order to qualify for the CB designation (or any other CIB designation/qualification), you must follow the process listed on their website and meet the requirements applicable to you. |
