When Jeny Benedict arrived in Canada, she had no idea that George Brown College would lead to a new life. Three years after her first class, she has her Medical Office Assistant Certificate, works full-time in a medical office and relies on her training every day. For the fourth straight year, Continuing Education at George Brown took home top spot in the Best Language School/Classes category in NOW Magazine. Continuing Education student, Niloufar Shaei, presents “Ancient Persia in Colours” — an exhibition inspired by ancient Persian values, myths and figures that are hidden in the art from that era. This painting collection combines both ancient and modern art. It uses contemporary visions, compositions and colours to express ancient cultures and believes. It also provides a modern outlook to aged thoughts, manners and history. This show runs from Sunday Novmeber 20, 2011 until Saturday December 3, 2011 at the Fine Arts Building/Gallery (207 Adelaide St. E.).
A tentative agreement has been reached between the College Employer Council representing Ontario's 24 Community Colleges and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) representing college support staff to end the province-wide strike. Employees will be returning to work on Tuesday, September 20. For more information, please check the George Brown College web site.

December was a big month for Continuing Education Fine Arts at George Brown. Students from the Abstract Painting and Sculpture classes offered their interpretations of food in Almost Edible, an exhibition at the Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts.
